Randwick Village

(Click Here For Multimap and other maps)

The village of Randwick sits high in the folds of the Cotswolds overlooking the picturesque Stroud Valleys. The village is sheltered behind the western edge of the Cotswold Hills, a short ascent taking you to views across the Severn flood-plain towards Shropshire, the Forest of Dean and the Welsh mountains.

The village nestles around the valley, a tumble of old weavers' cottages linked together by a maze of pathways or "laggers" which surround the school and church. From here farmland leads down to the lake and then follows the stream on down its path towards the River Frome.

The parish itself takes in a number of smaller hamlets, increasingly linked together over recent decades by 'in-fill' housing, bringing the population to around 1,500 residents. There is a strong sense of community in the parish with a wide range of groups, activities and services for all ages: including of course the Randwick Wap, our annual May festival. The beautiful St. John's Church plays a central role in village life as well as being well worth a visit for its historical interest, and local communication is kept very much alive by a dedicated band of volunteers who produce and circulate our parish newsletter the 'Randwick Runner' every week.
